Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick

A kid named Ben was born deaf in one ear.  His mom is gone and he lives with his cousins.  He is 10 years old. One night there was a storm. He went to call some one and the phone gets struck by lighting.  He gets found the next morning and goes to the hospital. When he wakes up,  he cannot hear at all! RL
