The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall

Rosy, Skye, Jane, Batty, and Mr.Penderwick are looking forward to an easy, laid back summer vacation.  But what they get is much more.  Rosy falls in love with a gardener.  Jane is working on a new book.  Skye secretly falls in love with a nice boy named  Jeffery.  Batty, the youngest, falls in love with some guinea pigs!
